A free day to day as came back to Vientiane a day early. Had a bit of a sleep in befor heading off for Brunch at the Common Ground Cafe, a socially conscious cafe which trains and employs young people that have been living on the streets and basically helping them get self esteem and dignity to move on with there life. Just a couple of sayings that are on the walls of the Cafe
We then crossed the road to a shop which sells many different types of products eg., earrings, scarves, shawls, bracelets etc., all made in the outlying villages and all money earnt from products sold is returned to the actually village that made the products. A further walk around the streets soaking up the atmosphere, then off we went to the markets.
Next on the list of must sees of Vientiane is the That Lang Stupa also known as the Great Sacried Stupa being approx 307AD. This Sacred Stupa appears on all forms of signage eg, Laotian Flag and crest.
Pakse Arch is also fabulous to see and a climb to the top from inside the Arch it is so worth the view when reaching the very top especially on a warm clear day like today
After this full day a bit of R&R for a couple of hours a dinner next to the Mekong with Thailand twinkling its lights just a stones throw away.
